Mechanical Workshop

Facilities

An extensive mechanical workshop is associated with the Antenna Measurement Laboratory, providing most of the Group’s prototype manufacturing needs. This includes a developing CAD/CAM capability supported by:

PCB plotter

In-house prototyping of printed antennas and PCBs is achieved with the use of a PCB plotter.

CNC milling machine

The CNC Milling Machine is used to manufacture a wide range of complex waveguide and antenna components, as well as quasi-optical reflectors. It forms part of our CAD/CAM capability.

CNC Lathe machine

The CNC Lathe Machine is a high performance parallel horizontal lathe enabling complex, circularly symmetric structures, such as corrugated horns, to be manufactured.

Contact Information

The Antenna Measurement Laboratory is located in the Engineering Building on the Mile End campus in London. The laboratory can be easily reached by using the London Underground system (Central line – Mile End station, Hammersmith & City Line and District Line – Stepney Green station).

A map of the Campus and travel information can be found on the main college website.
